Marie B

2023, Bespoke furniture & lighting for restaurant Marie B by Ambiente,
Concept by Studio Olgoj Chorchoj

Inconspicuous at first glance the guests enter through graffiti tagged door to Marie B.

Based on the architectural concept made by Studio Olgoj Chorchoj (led by Michal Froněk and Honza Šrámek), we engineered, developed, produced, and installed all the bespoke furniture and lights in the new Ambiente fine dining restaurant.

With specific bespoke interior and menu in the form of carte blanche, the fine dining restaurant has so much to offer. It is situated in the authentic building of Prague downtown, behind the windows with metallic curtains and neon artworks on the raw walls from Berlin based artist Anselm Reyle.

Among many, the main challenge was to create an interior that can be at any time dismantled and relocated to a new place in the future if needed.

Marie B restaurant also includes a space called Vin de Marie – a wine tasting space with the wineshop led by head sommelier Zdeněk Oudes.

All furniture was made as a bespoke pieces with the most noticeable feature of the space – the Protein pendant made of hand blown crystal glass.

Despite the complexity of the chandelier, the Protein was made in roughly two and a half months and is now suspended from the ceiling of the Vin de Marie.

Why Protein?

“Michal Froněk from the Olgoj Chorchoj studio came up with the concept - he wanted light that would refer to food, but not quite directly. He was inspired by the 2017 protein visualization for which Jacques Dubochet received the Nobel Prize. This visual was our template and our task was to translate it into glass.” said Jakub Pollag for online magazine Jídlo a radost.
