Moving away from mass-produced perfection, Pollág and zeitgeist.limited focus on the tactile quality of raw materials, experimental processes, and small-batch manufacturing. While Jakub Pollág stands behind the design concepts, zeitgeist.limited acts as the dedicated maker, bringing technical rigor and physical form to each piece. The Solid Shelf System
Taking center stage at Designblok is The Solid Shelf System, where the design plays with the natural dialogue between weight and openness. Monumental pillars of dark-stained solid oak form the structural backbone of the piece, punctuated by precise CNC-milled circular openings that allow light to pass through the heavy wooden mass.
Clear, tempered glass shelves extend horizontally through the oak columns, creating a striking contrast between solid volume and transparent lightness. To preserve the natural soul of the wood, the oak is hand-finished with solvent-free oils, highlighting the deep texture of the grain and ensuring that every single pillar retains its own individual character.
Bespoke Lighting & Glasswear
Alongside the shelf system, the exhibition highlights a core part of the studio’s practice: bespoke lighting and glasscraft. Drawing on the rich tradition of Czech glassmaking, the new collection presents a playful yet refined light built around a minimalist structure of curved steel, covered with hand-shaped, colourful glass nodes. The modular construction allows the fixture to be customised to suit the mood, scale, and architecture of a particular space, creating a unique lighting piece tailored to its surroundings.
The tradition of glasscraft also extends into the limited-edition Steps glassware collection. Hand-blown from lead-free crystal, the glasses feature a distinct stepped silhouette designed to fit comfortably in the hand, merging functional utility with tactile detail.
