Product designer Jakub Pollág, together with boutique manufacturing studio zeitgeist.limited, presents a curated showcase for Designblok 2026 within the High Craft section. The exhibition explores their shared approach to design and custom production — connecting traditional Czech glassmaking with contemporary engineering, and taking each project from the initial idea and design through workshop production to final installation.
Rather than pursuing the perfection of mass production, Pollág and zeitgeist.limited focus on objects with individuality, tactile quality and a clear relationship to their surroundings. Their work brings together Czech craft traditions, contemporary design and modern engineering, combining established techniques with contemporary technology and experimental processes. Each piece is made to order, allowing colour, scale, configuration and details to respond to a particular space.
While Jakub Pollág stands behind the concept and design, zeitgeist.limited operates as a boutique manufacturer. Together they collaborate with Czech craftspeople and specialist makers and hand-assemble each piece in its Prague workshop. Particular attention is given to materials, construction and the smallest functional details, bringing together the precision of engineering with the character of handcraft.

The Solid Shelf
The Solid Shelf is a dialogue between the visual lightness of glass and the weight of solid wood. Monumental pillars of dark-stained solid oak form the structural backbone of the piece, punctuated by precise CNC-milled circular openings that allow light to pass through the heavy wooden mass.
Clear, tempered glass shelves extend horizontally through the oak columns, creating a striking contrast between solid volume and transparent fragility. A precisely engineered metal component holds the structure together, reflecting the studio's fascination with mechanical joints, industrial details and well-resolved hardware.
The oak is hand-finished with solvent-free oils, preserving the natural character of the material and allowing every pillar to retain its individual expression.
Bespoke Lighting Collections
On its own, a single element says very little. Place one beside another, and a rhythm begins to emerge.
This idea runs through the studio's modular lighting collections, where individual elements come together to create a larger composition. Each collection can evolve through different colours, scales and arrangements - from a single pendant to a more complex configuration — while maintaining the same visual language.
Knot Light is a playful yet refined modular lighting collection built from hand-shaped, colourful glass knots set within a minimalist structure of curved steel. Developed in collaboration with Czech glassmakers, each glass element is individually shaped by hand, bringing subtle variation to the composition. No two pieces are quite the same.
Grow Light takes a more organic approach. Its curved aluminium structure, anchored by a solid steel base, carries hand-blown glass spheres in different shapes, colours and textures, creating a silhouette reminiscent of growing flora. Available in floor and pendant versions, the collection can be customized in scale, configuration and finish.
Both collections are made to order, allowing each composition to respond to the space around it.
